Parliamentary Research Services

A Strong parliaments are the foundation of a well-functioning democracy and are essentially needed. The parliamentary research service strengthens the capacity of parliamentarians and thus provides the basis for a well-instructed and competent decision-making of the legislative power.

The all over purpose of the project is to discuss the most effective ways to strengthen parliamentary research services, which by providing access to reliable information and professional analysis shall improve the MP’s ability to fully perform their role within parliament.


The project includes the following activities:

1 – Organization a two days conference/workshop in Amman at the Jordanian Parliament premises aims at strengthening parliamentary work by discussing the process and techniques to develop modern and up to date parliamentary research services that can support the work of the parliamentarians in the legislative process. The conference included Secretaries General of Parliaments and head of Research services of some Arab countries and EU National Parliaments. 

2- Formulation of conclusions and writing a synthesis in three languages: Arabic, French and English and disseminating it.

Duration: Five Months project – March to July 2019.
